The Gaza Municipality has issued a strong condemnation against the actions of the Israeli forces, accusing them of desecrating cemeteries and mishandling bodies in various areas of the Gaza Strip.
In a statement released on Saturday, the Municipality reported that the Israeli forces committed these acts in violation of both divine laws and international regulations. The affected cemeteries include Bab Al-Bahr Cemetery opposite the Arab Hospital (Al-Mamadani), Al-Twaini in Al-Shuja’iya neighborhood, Al-Batsh in Al-Tuffah neighborhood, Ben Marwan in Al-Daraj neighborhood, Sheikh Radwan, and dozens of other public and private burial sites, as per the Jordanian news agency.
The statement added that the occupation forces bulldozed large sections of these cemeteries, exhumed graves, and even crushed them with tanks, resulting in bodies being unearthed due to their indiscriminate excavation.
The Gaza Municipality has called upon international organizations and religious institutions to denounce these crimes committed by the occupation forces. They emphasize the urgent need for intervention to prevent further desecration of the cemeteries and to ensure respect for religious laws and human rights.
The ongoing Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip, which began on October 7, has resulted in catastrophic living conditions and a significant number of casualties. The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza earlier today announced that since October 7, the Israeli aggression has led to 26,257 deaths and 64,797 injuries, marking the 113th day of the assault.
In a recent statement, the Health Ministry in Gaza highlighted that the Israeli forces have committed 18 massacres against families in the Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours alone, resulting in 174 deaths and 310 injuries.
The statement also noted that several victims remain under rubble and on the streets, as the Israeli forces continue to prevent ambulance and civil defense teams from reaching them.
