Mohammed Abu Suleima, the director of Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza, revealed in an interview with Sky News Arabia the death of all patients in the hospital’s intensive care unit.
This catastrophic situation is attributed to the Israeli blockade on the medical complex.
Abu Suleima disclosed that over 54 individuals in the intensive care unit have passed away since the inception of the Israeli siege.
The hospital, now engulfed in a state of crisis, is severely lacking essential supplies like medicine, water, and oxygen due to the week-long blockade imposed on the medical facility.
Focusing on the plight of premature infants, Abu Suleima warned, “If urgent medical treatment and supplies are not provided, we will see these vulnerable children die one after the other.”
He went on to describe the hospital as a military barracks, indicating that the Israeli army is targeting everything that moves within the hospital premises.
This dire situation at Gaza’s Al-Shifa Hospital highlights the devastating human impact of the ongoing blockade, underscoring the urgent need for medical aid and an end to the siege.
The Palestinian Minister of Communications has highlighted the disruption of the communication network in the Gaza Strip due to the shutdown of primary generators caused by a fuel shortage.
In statements to the Cairo News Channel, the minister issued urgent appeals for the provision of necessary fuel to power generators and to restore communication services in Gaza.
He emphasized that the Israeli occupation had destroyed 70% of Gaza’s communication network and urged for the reactivation of the remaining infrastructure.
The Israeli airstrikes on Gaza have led to the deaths of over 11,000 people in the besieged enclave.
Israeli troops entered the city and the Jenin refugee camp from various directions, closing all entrances, isolating the city from its external surroundings, and arresting seven citizens.
