The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced that they had conducted a significant operation in the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, resulting in the deaths of 12 Israeli soldiers.
The operation, detailed in a statement on Wednesday, took place in Block 4 of the camp.
During the operation, the Brigades claimed they targeted an armored bulldozer with a Yassin 105 projectile and attacked a group of Israeli soldiers inside a building with anti-personnel missiles, followed by direct clashes.
The statement further described that as an Israeli rescue force approached, a Shuwad explosive device was detonated, targeting a Merkava tank.
The area was then reportedly bombed by Israeli warplanes as soldiers attempted to retrieve equipment from the ground. The Brigades also reported seizing an Israeli military drone in the western part of Jabalia camp.
Additionally, the Al-Qassam Brigades reported that in prior engagements in Jabalia, they had killed eight soldiers and destroyed various tanks and armored vehicles.
In response, the Israeli military confirmed that 28 soldiers were injured, some severely, in recent skirmishes with Hamas in Gaza, bringing the total reported Israeli military injuries in the region to 95 since the end of the previous week.
