On Thursday, Hezbollah announced the launch of approximately 200 rockets towards Israel.
The Lebanese militant group stated that the attack was in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza and as retaliation for an Israeli attack and assassination in the Al-Hawsh area of Tyre city.
In a statement, Hezbollah declared, “Our fighters launched more than 200 rockets of various types at the headquarters of the 91st Division in the Eliat barracks, the headquarters of the 7th Armored Brigade in the Katsabia barracks, the Gamla barracks, and at the Nafah base.”
Sky News Arabia reported that dozens of rockets and drones were launched from Lebanon towards targets in northern Israel.
The report mentioned that sirens blared in northern Israel for half an hour, indicating a heightened state of alert and Israeli aerial efforts to intercept Hezbollah drones.
According to Yedioth Ahronoth, multiple fires broke out in open areas in the Golan Heights and Upper Galilee due to the continuous rocket barrage from Lebanon.
Since the outbreak of the Gaza war on October 7, Hezbollah, backed by Iran, and Israel have engaged in almost daily exchanges of fire across Lebanon’s southern border.
Tensions have sharply escalated in recent days, raising fears of a broader conflict that could ignite regional turmoil.
