Lebanese Hezbollah confirmed on Thursday that its member, Fadl Ibrahim, was killed in an Israeli strike targeting southern Lebanon.
According to the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, an Israeli fighter jet precisely targeted and killed Fadl Ibrahim, a Hezbollah operations commander in the Jouya region, in an attack in the area of Deir Kifa, southern Lebanon.
An Israeli military spokesperson, as reported by the German news agency, also stated that the Israeli aircraft successfully eliminated another Hezbollah member, Ramadan Hamada, in the village of Deir Kifa.
Yedioth Ahronoth reported on its website that Hamada had taken over operations leadership in the Jouya sector, responsible for planning and carrying out “terrorist” attacks against Israel, as well as commanding ground operations in the area.
In recent months, Hamada had contributed to strengthening Hezbollah’s position in southern Lebanon, focusing on enhancing the group’s ground combat capabilities, according to the newspaper.
The Israeli military spokesperson added that Israeli fighter jets also targeted a ground-to-air missile launch platform in the Al-Rayhan area, part of Hezbollah’s defense system, which poses a threat to Israeli aircraft operating in Lebanese airspace.
