Instagram announced on Friday that users can now add music to their photo collections to showcase their musical preferences.
This music-related addition comes after the platform introduced a feature in June, allowing users to share snippets of songs they’re currently listening to via Instagram Notes.
Furthermore, Instagram has introduced a collaboration feature, enabling users to team up with up to three friends on a single post or reel.
Posts or reels created in collaboration will appear in the feeds of all involved parties’ followers. The “Collabs” feature was initially tested globally in 2021 before its official launch.
The app also enhanced its “Add Yours” sticker, first introduced in 2021. It now encourages users to join challenges or use specific hashtags. Creators can spotlight Reels from their followers using this.
These selected Reels, marked as “Creator pick”, become visible to other users when they interact with the creator’s “Add Yours” sticker.
A call-to-action message on the “Add Yours” page prompts: “Create a reel with this prompt for a chance to be featured as a creator pick.”
Creators have the choice of selecting up to 10 Reels associated with a particular sticker. Notified users whose Reels are chosen by creators gain added visibility.
