Instagram is currently exploring a new functionality called “My Week”, which would enable users to extend the lifespan of their stories on their profiles to a whole week.
Currently in the testing phase, this feature is not yet accessible to the general public, but it may be introduced in the future.
With My Week, users could choose particular stories to remain visible on their profiles for a duration of seven days. This extension offers users enhanced control over the visibility of their stories and provides an opportunity to share more with their audience.
For content creators, My Week presents an opportunity to showcase behind-the-scenes content or to develop a short series about their personal or professional life.
Similarly, businesses could leverage this feature to highlight their products or services, or to feature customer feedback.
While the My Week feature is still under development, its public release date remains uncertain. Instagram, a platform under Meta, is renowned for trialing various features concurrently, so the full development and release of these new functions might take time.
In the same vein, Instagram’s Threads app has been emulating various Twitter features and is now introducing a key Twitter functionality: hashtags.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, has announced the testing phase for tagging topics in Threads, which will allow users to organize posts by interest or theme.
When using these tags, indicated by the “#” symbol, they will not display the symbol but will instead show up as clickable blue links.
The trial phase is starting in Australia, with the Threads team planning to refine the experience based on user feedback, as reported by TechCrunch. Zuckerberg mentioned that the feature will be available for testing in more countries soon.
