The International Coalition forces have carried out military exercises in the area of the Koniko gas field in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
According to a press release by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) on Thursday, the region witnessed several explosions over the past few hours due to the military drills conducted by the Coalition forces using live ammunition and heavy weapons at the base, targeting simulated objectives.
The exercises were aimed at enhancing the combat readiness of the Coalition forces in the area, in anticipation of any potential attacks on American bases within Syrian territory.
This development follows less than 24 hours after the International Coalition conducted military exercises at the Al-Omar field, which is one of the largest Coalition bases in Syria.
Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad declared that the Israeli attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria will not go without a response. Mekdad emphasized that the Israeli occupation has committed “genocidal crimes” in Gaza, making no distinctions between children and women.
During remarks broadcasted by Cairo News Channel, Mekdad highlighted the continuous support from the United States to Israel, which, according to him, enables the continuation of its massacres in the Gaza Strip.
He added that a resolution to the Palestinian issue must be founded on the two-state solution, underlining the urgency of establishing a peaceful coexistence between Palestine and Israel.
Mekdad also called on the international community to halt the Israeli massacres in Gaza, insisting on a collective effort to address the violence that has plagued the region.
