Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, affirmed today, Wednesday, the commitment to not allow any threat to jeopardize Iraq’s security and its people. He emphasized that sustaining stability translates to more development, construction, and attracting global companies, as Iraq has now become a safe environment for investments and investors.
Al-Sudani made these remarks during his attendance at the graduation ceremony of a new batch of officers from the Military College in Baghdad. He highlighted that the government has included the development of security forces in its agenda under the 2024-2032 Security Sector Reform Strategy. This strategy aims at implementing comprehensive reforms in the security system based on scientific foundations to keep pace with rapid global developments.
Furthermore, Al-Sudani reiterated the government’s determination to equip the security forces with the latest weaponry, with numerous directives issued through the High Committee for Armaments. He underscored that thanks to the capabilities and bravery of the security forces, the government is now negotiating strongly with international coalition countries to end their military presence and transition their mission to bilateral relations.
