The Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced targeting Israeli oil objectives located in the port of Haifa on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
In a statement released by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, it was stated that “this morning, Wednesday, 10/4/2024, the mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq targeted the Haifa oil port in our occupied lands with two drones…”
The statement emphasized that these operations continue to target Israeli objectives as part of their resistance against the occupation and in solidarity with our people in Gaza, in response to the massacres committed by the occupying entity against Palestinian civilians, including children, women, and the elderly.
Earlier, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq had announced targeting the “Hatsrim” airbase and a vital target in Israel over the past 72 hours.
According to their statement: “The mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq targeted the following objectives during the past 72 hours with appropriate weapons: the Hatsrim airbase in Beersheba and a vital target in our occupied lands,” affirming their commitment to striking the enemies’ strongholds.
These factions occasionally shell American bases in Syria and Iraq in response to the Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip, expressing support for the Palestinian resistance.
The Israeli army has been conducting military operations against the Gaza Strip since October 7, when the Palestinian movement Hamas, which controls the territory, announced the start of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation.
Thousands of rockets were launched from Gaza into Israel, and its forces invaded Israeli settlements adjacent to the Strip, resulting in the deaths of about 1,200 Israelis and the capture of about 250 others.
The battles were interrupted by a seven-day ceasefire mediated by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States, during which prisoners, including women and children, were exchanged, and agreed-upon aid was delivered to the Gaza Strip, before military operations resumed on December 1 last year.
Israel responded by formally declaring war on the Gaza Strip, beginning with devastating airstrikes, followed by ground military operations within the Strip, resulting in thousands of casualties among its population.
Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier emphasized that the Middle East crisis can only be resolved on the basis of the “two-state” formula, approved by the UN Security Council, which calls for the establishment of an Israeli state alongside an independent Palestinian state on the territories occupied since 1967, with its capital in East Jerusalem.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also stressed during his meeting with members of the ministerial committee appointed by the Arab Islamic Summit of the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on November 21 last year that Russia calls for the immediate resumption of negotiations on establishing a Palestinian state, and that it shares the Islamic Cooperation Organization’s assessment of the need for a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
