In a series of nighttime operations from Thursday to Friday, Israeli fighter jets launched strikes on buildings used by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, according to the Israeli military.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported that four buildings in the villages of Ayta al-Sha’b and Marwahin were targeted, with the IDF releasing footage of the attacks, as covered by the Times of Israel.
Avichay Adraee, the IDF spokesperson for Arabic media, stated on his official X (formerly Twitter) account that Israeli warplanes struck two military buildings housing Hezbollah operatives in the regions of Houla and Maroun al-Ras in southern Lebanon.
Additionally, IDF forces bombarded several areas in southern Lebanon to eliminate threats posed by attacks originating from Lebanese territory.
Following alarms in the Zar’it area, reports indicated that several projectiles were fired from Lebanon without causing any injuries, according to the spokesperson’s statement.
The statement also mentioned that after alarms sounded in the Margaliot area, Israeli air defences intercepted a suspicious aerial target that had breached Israeli airspace from Lebanon.
Earlier on Thursday, alarms were activated in the Golan Heights area due to concerns about a hostile aerial intrusion, which led to the interception of a cruise missile coming from the east. No injuries or damage were reported in either incident.
This escalation marks a significant development in the ongoing tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, with both sides exchanging fire across the border in recent weeks.
The IDF continues to monitor and respond to threats from Hezbollah, ensuring the security of its northern border.
