The Israeli army assassinated on Wednesday the commander of the “Aziz” unit in the Lebanese Hezbollah, Mohammed Naima Nasser, by targeting his car in the Al-Hosh area of the city of Tyre. He joins two other leaders previously assassinated by Israel.
This escalation coincided with meetings of the US presidential envoy Amos Hochstein with French officials in Paris, discussing the situation on the southern border of Lebanon.
The party mourned Nasser as a “commander” and announced in a statement the shelling of two Israeli military headquarters in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights with “a hundred rockets (Katyusha)”. They also announced the shelling of the command headquarters of “Brigade 769” at Kiryat Shmona barracks.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu preempted his meeting with US President Joe Biden in Washington by dismantling settlement outposts in the West Bank.
