The Palestinian News Agency reported on Sunday that the Israeli army stormed the Al-Amal and Nasser hospitals in the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, simultaneously with heavy shelling.
The Red Crescent Society stated that Israeli vehicles besieged Al-Amal Hospital, where they carried out extensive excavation work in its vicinity, warning that all medical staff are in danger.
In turn, Israel stated that it had arrested 48 militants in the ongoing clashes at the Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza.
The Israeli Operation
In a joint statement, the spokesperson for the Israeli army and the spokesperson’s office of the General Security Service said, “The IDF and the Shabak are launching a military campaign in western Khan Yunis: aimed at destroying about 40 aerial targets in addition to eliminating saboteurs from a short distance.”
Israeli forces, along with the General Security Service led by Brigade 98, launched a military campaign in the Al-Amal neighborhood west of Khan Yunis last night, with the aim, according to the Israeli government, of “continuing to dismantle terrorist infrastructure and eliminate saboteurs in the area.”
The campaign began with a preemptive strike in which warplanes belonging to the air force destroyed about 40 targets, according to the Israeli army.
