The newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth” reported on Sunday that the head of the Israeli General Security Service (Shin Bet), Ronen Bar, issued a warning to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu concerning the escalating “terrorism” by settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank.
The newspaper quoted Bar as saying in a message delivered to Netanyahu’s office, “Jewish terrorism fuels Palestinian terrorism,” considering that the beneficiaries of this are Hamas and the Islamic Jihad movements.
Last week, settlers killed a Palestinian in the village of Burqa in the Ramallah district after clashes erupted between the two sides, during which settlers used weapons.
In the same context, the Israeli news website “Behazit” stated that among those suspected in the killing of the Palestinian in Burqa is Elisha Yard, the former spokesperson for Knesset member Limor Son Har, in addition to another suspect.
The website reported that an Israeli court extended the detention of the two suspects by five days.
Military Preparedness Ahead of Demolishing Palestinian Home in West Bank
The spokesman for the Israeli army, Avichai Adraee, said on Sunday that army forces carried out an engineering survey of the home of the Tel Aviv attacker in preparation for its demolition, located in a village near Jenin in the West Bank.
Adraee added, previously on the platform X (formerly Twitter), that some of the suspects threw an explosive device at the Israeli forces, who responded by opening fire without any injuries on their side.
The Israeli army radio announced on Saturday the killing of a security guard at the Tel Aviv municipality in a shooting in Tel Aviv.
Israeli media outlets revealed the identity of the attacker, stating that he is Kamel Abu Bakr from the village of Rumana, west of the city of Jenin.
The Israeli General Security Service (Shin Bet) noted that the shooter was wanted in the Jenin refugee camp and belonged to the Islamic Jihad movement.
