Italy has evacuated residents from several areas, particularly in the Lombardy region, due to landslides triggered by floods following heavy rainfall across the country.
Video footage captured by Italian firefighting teams showed soil collapses, leading to the relocation of about 15 people from the area, amid warnings of further landslide risks.
Around 40 firefighting personnel were deployed in the area to support evacuation operations, assisted by a “Drago 150” helicopter.
In the Brescia Iseo Edolo area, a railway line was closed after a minor soil collapse struck.
Firefighting teams worked tirelessly for a full day, conducting about 200 intervention operations, contributing to making homes and roads safer amidst continued rainfall.
Several roads were also closed to travelers in some areas.
In the village of Zigole di Buffeno, rocks fell onto roads, and other routes were closed due to landslides or preemptively by authorities as a precautionary measure.
