In a strong rebuke, Ayman Al-Safadi, Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, condemned Israel’s ongoing aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip, calling for an immediate cessation.
Al-Safadi emphasized that the indiscriminate attacks on civilians cannot be justified as self-defense.
Speaking in a joint statement alongside members of the Arab-Islamic ministerial committee, who recently concluded a diplomatic tour to China, Russia, the United Kingdom, and China, Al-Safadi underscored the imperative for Israel to be held accountable for what he termed as war crimes committed in Gaza.
He insisted that Israel should not operate outside the bounds of international law.
Al-Safadi called for an end to the selective application of international law, urging the international community to ensure the equitable distribution of humanitarian aid to all parts of Gaza, including its northern regions.
Highlighting the path to lasting security, he reiterated that the only viable solution is the end of the occupation based on the two-state framework. The statement from Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister reflects growing international concerns over the situation in Gaza and calls for a more comprehensive approach to address the root causes of the conflict.
