Jordan’s Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh categorically denied recent rumors about a land bridge passing through Jordan for exporting goods to Israel.
In his first response to these speculations on the platform “X” on Sunday, he labeled the news of a land bridge as “fabrications and tales from the realm of fantasy.”
He further stated that the transport arrangements from and through Jordan have remained unchanged for 25 years.
Al-Khasawneh also dismissed doubts about Amman’s stance on the Palestinian issue, describing such skepticism as a “disgrace.”
Al-Khasawneh emphasized that under the leadership of King Abdullah II, Jordan is actively leading political and diplomatic efforts to halt aggression and ensure the sustainable delivery of humanitarian aid.
Earlier, Jordan’s Minister of Agriculture Khaled Al-Hanifat clarified that the export of Jordanian vegetables and fruits to Israel is conducted by private sector companies without government involvement.
He added that since 2018, the kingdom has not imported any goods from Israel. While the ministry does not encourage exports to Israel, it cannot legally prevent the private sector from doing so due to the lack of a legal basis and the potential contractual and penal obligations on private companies.
