A source within the Jordanian Armed Forces refuted claims that the US Army is utilizing military bases in Jordan to deliver supplies to Israel, according toJordan News Agency (Petra).
The source dismissed rumors circulating on social media platforms, asserting that there is no basis to reports suggesting a US military aircraft took off from Jordan.
These rumors had accused the United States of stationing military forces in Jordan to support Israel, which has caused speculation and concern, given Jordan’s public condemnation of Israel’s actions in Gaza. Jordan has consistently called for an end to the bombing campaign and the lifting of the blockade on Gaza.
The reports have raised questions about Jordan’s position in the conflict, implying that its expressed concerns may be incongruent with its alleged cooperation with the US in supporting Israel.
The United States, a long-standing ally of Israel, has traditionally supported Israel’s defense.
In response to the conflict, the US has deployed military forces to the region, including positioning aircraft carrier strike groups in the Eastern Mediterranean, reinforcing air defenses, and maintaining additional forces on standby.
Reports indicating the landing of US military transport aircraft at a Jordanian base have fueled suspicions of active Jordanian participation in supporting Israel.
The Jordanian Armed Forces source, however, has refuted these claims, emphasizing the absence of any US military activities for supporting Israel from Jordan.
