The sixteenth relief aircraft from the Kuwaiti air bridge took to the skies this Wednesday morning, headed for the city of El-Arish, carrying ten tons of medical supplies and essentials for the Gaza sector.
Khaled Al-Zeid, the Director of Public Relations and Media at the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society, expressed in a statement after takeoff that this air bridge is a continuation of the Kuwaiti efforts to provide relief and medical aid to the Palestinian people, particularly those in the strife-torn Gaza sector.
He extended gratitude to the Egyptian Red Crescent for facilitating the delivery of Kuwaiti humanitarian aid to Gaza through the Rafah Crossing, reiterating that Palestine remains a vibrant and heartfelt cause for the people and government of Kuwait.
Al-Zeid highlighted that the Kuwaiti air bridge for Gaza’s relief is ongoing, as the region endures severe humanitarian conditions due to continuous Israeli occupation assaults that have lasted more than 32 days, resulting in thousands of martyrs and injured, most of whom are children and women.
He emphasized the imperative need to allow the safe delivery of humanitarian aid throughout Gaza, especially to the healthcare sector, which is desperately in need of energy sources, including diesel fuel, whose entry is prohibited.
Additionally, Yusuf Al-Ma’raji, Director of Disaster and Emergency Management at the Society, mentioned that the medical and food assistance sent by Kuwait, in coordination with the Egyptian Red Crescent, has entered Gaza and been distributed to shelters and hospitals. The aid aims to alleviate the human suffering faced by the residents of Gaza, especially children and women.
Al-Ma’raji further stated that Kuwait is committed to providing all possible support to enhance the humanitarian response and help the brothers in Gaza by meeting the essential needs of the population and supporting the shelters and hospitals.
