Khalifa Abdul Sadiq, the Acting Minister of Oil and Gas for Libya’s Government of National Unity, conducted pivotal discussions today with his Saudi counterpart, Abdulaziz bin Salman, and Egyptian counterpart, Tarek El Molla, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Riyadh.
The meeting focused on exploring avenues for international cooperation and growth in the energy sector.
The discussions were attended by the Secretary General of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), highlighting the forum’s significant role in shaping global energy policies.
In his address at the forum, Abdul Sadiq emphasized Libya’s potential to play a key role in the future of energy, citing the country’s rich human resources and promising oil reserves.
The Libyan minister expressed optimism about leveraging these assets to enhance Libya’s contribution to the global energy landscape.
These strategic talks underline the importance of collaboration and shared vision among leading oil-producing nations to address the challenges and opportunities in the evolving global energy market.
Libya’s Acting Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energies, Awad Al-Badri, held a meeting with the CEO of the German company “Frenel,” which specialises in solar power stations.
According to the government’s media office, the meeting reviewed the Libyan government’s plans and programs to localize 3000 megawatts of solar energy for the sector’s development.
This is in line with the directives of Libyan Prime Minister Osama Hamad to diversify energy sources, provide clean energy, and capitalize on the country’s solar energy potential.
