Libya was represented at the sixth conference for the presidents of Arab councils and parliaments, organized by the Arab League under the theme “Arab Parliamentary Vision for Secure Utilization of Artificial Intelligence.”
The event took place at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo.
Aguila Saleh, the President of the Libyan House of Representatives, actively engaged in the conference’s proceedings. Discussions revolved around various topics concerning cybersecurity and the imperative of secure utilization of artificial intelligence.
These discussions were particularly relevant given the significant changes occurring in the Arab world amidst the era of globalization and technological advancement.
Prior to the conference, Saleh also participated in a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, alongside other Arab council and parliament presidents.
Libya has been undergoing a complex political transition since the overthrow of longtime ruler Muammar Gaddafi in 2011.
The country has struggled with political instability, armed conflicts, and competing power centers, leading to a fragmented governance structure.
The participation of Libyan representatives in international forums such as the Arab Parliamentary Presidents Conference highlights the country’s efforts to engage diplomatically and address key regional issues amidst its domestic challenges.
