Civil Aviation Authority of Libya and the General Authority of Civil Aviation in Qatar came together to sign a memorandum of understanding. The signing ceremony took place at the Ministry of Transportation in Tripoli, marking a pivotal moment in the development of aviation relations between the two nations.
The memorandum of understanding, signed by Muhammad Shalibak, the head of the Libyan Civil Aviation Authority, and Muhammad Al-Hajri, acting head of the Qatari General Authority of Civil Aviation, is poised to strengthen and advance cooperation in the realm of civil aviation.
This agreement sets the stage for collaboration across various critical domains within civil aviation, including air safety, air traffic management, civil aviation security and facilities, meteorological services, and legal affairs. It also paves the way for the exchange of skilled and qualified personnel, as well as the organization of workshops and training programs.
Qatar has been actively expanding its civil aviation partnerships on a global scale, with this agreement representing another step in that direction. A parallel agreement was also recently inked between the State of Qatar and the State of Saint Lucia, as part of Qatar’s broader efforts to broaden the reach of its national airline.
The Libya-Qatar aviation accord aligns with the ongoing commitment to enhance and cultivate relations between the two countries in the field of civil aviation and various air transport activities. Earlier discussions between Mohamed Al Shahoubi, the Minister of Transport of the Government of National Unity, and Khaled Al Dosari, the Qatari ambassador to Libya, laid the groundwork for this cooperative endeavor.
