The National Oil Corporation (NOC) of Libya revealed the resumption of operations at nine oil wells that were previously closed after necessary maintenance work.
In a statement, the NOC reported that technical teams from the Arabian Gulf Oil Company successfully conducted precise and vital repairs, resulting in the reopening of nine wells in the Serir oil field.
These wells collectively produce approximately 4,000 barrels of crude oil per day, aligning with the corporation’s plan to increase production.
The repairs included fixing faults in the high-voltage electrical network supplying four previously inactive wells, repairing leaks in the flow lines of four other wells, and completing the electrical and mechanical connection of another well.
Earlier, the NOC announced that the Sirte Oil Company for Production and Manufacturing achieved a “significant discovery in both gas and condensates” in an exploratory field southeast of the Al Lahib field. This discovery is part of the corporation’s strategic plan to boost oil and gas production rates.
Following successful drilling operations and reaching a final depth of 8,666 feet (equivalent to 2,641 meters), the well was tested, with production testing results indicating the potential for daily production of 16.8 million cubic feet of gas and 626 barrels of oil.
This achievement is in line with the corporation’s objectives to meet ambitious targets and increase oil and gas production rates across various oil sites.
