Norway has extended its sanctions against Russia, aligning with the 11th package of EU sanctions, as confirmed by the Norwegian Foreign Ministry.
This latest round of sanctions closely mirrors measures outlined in the EU’s 11th sanctions package.
The Norwegian sanctions prohibit the transit of goods and technologies through Russian territory that could bolster Russia’s military and technological capabilities or contribute to advancements in defense and security.
These restrictions also encompass items from the aviation and space industries, luxury goods, specific iron and steel products, as well as the transport of trailers and semi-trailers registered in Russia.
Furthermore, Oslo has expressed its readiness to restrict the sale of specific goods and technologies to nations that are known to circumvent sanctions aimed at Russia.
It is important to note that Norway is not a member of the European Union; however, it has consistently supported most of Brussels’ sanctions, including the recent ban on cars with Russian registration entering Norway starting from October 3.
The 11th EU sanctions package against Russia was approved on June 23.
