The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that it is engaged in the development of a comprehensive case, in collaboration with partners, concerning the matter of the martyr Qusay Ma’tan. This preparation is in anticipation of raising it to the International Criminal Court (ICC), thus allowing the court to bear its responsibilities towards this compounded crime.
In a press statement, the Ministry articulated that the crime encompasses “the attack and assault on a Palestinian town, a settler’s initiative to open fire and kill the martyr Ma’tan, followed by the release of those accused of the murder, and the concealment and protection of them.”
The Foreign Ministry further commented that the release of the terrorist settlers accused of killing the martyr Qusay Ma’tan has once again revealed the existence of two disparate and contradictory judicial systems implemented by the occupying state on the occupied Palestinian land. One system is designed specifically for the settlers, providing them protection, immunity, and defending those criminals among them who commit crimes against the Palestinians.
It is noteworthy that the martyr Qusay Ma’tan was killed last Friday evening by terrorist settlers who attacked the village of Burqa east of Ramallah. Meanwhile, the occupation court released the settlers accused of killing the martyr Ma’tan, namely “Yehiyehil Indor, Elisha Yar,” and placed them under house arrest, alleging that the evidence was insufficient for the continuation of their detention.
The Israeli National Security Minister, deemed by some as “terrorist,” “Itamar Ben Gvir,” has called for the granting of a “Medal of Appreciation” and providing legal immunity to the settler who opened fire, resulting in the martyrdom of the young Qusay Ma’tan.
