The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday the death of a young Palestinian man after being shot in the head by the Israeli military in Jenin, located in the northern West Bank. The Ministry stated briefly in its declaration, “The martyrdom of the boy, Othman Atef Mohammed Abu Khroj (17 years old), after being shot in the head by the Israeli occupying forces in Jenin.”
The official Palestinian news agency, WAFA, reported that Abu Khroj was killed during confrontations that erupted early today in the town of Zababdeh, south of Jenin, following an Israeli forces incursion into the town.
On Tuesday dawn, the Israeli military stormed cities and towns across various parts of the West Bank, in pursuit of individuals they claim were responsible for firing operations against settlers. The Israeli military announced its forces detained two Palestinians in Hebron, alleging they had executed a shooting operation near the city the previous day, resulting in the death of an Israeli settler and severely wounding another. The West Bank is witnessing escalating tensions between Israeli forces and settlers on one side, and Palestinians on the other.
