Poland’s border forces announced on Wednesday that the country has received around 43,600 refugees from Ukraine over the past two days.
According to Poland’s English-language radio, more than 43,000 Ukrainian refugees departed Poland on Monday and Tuesday, returning to their homeland.
Since the start of the war between Ukraine and Russia in February 2022, Warsaw has welcomed over 19 million Ukrainian refugees, with nearly 17 million of them returning home since then.
It’s worth noting that in March 2022, Poland passed a bill providing a support package for Ukrainian refugees fleeing their country, granting them legal residence and ensuring their right to education, healthcare, and social services.
