Alexander Mikheev, CEO of Rosoboronexport, Russia’s state arms trading company, announced that new Russian military technologies, including drones, are set to be approved for international sales in 2024, during an interview with Sputnik.
Mikheev said: “We expect that Russian manufacturing enterprises will intensify in 2024 the processing of authorization documentation for new models, including those from the unmanned segment.”
“ In addition, the market shows a high demand for our products that have undergone modernization based on the results of use in combat,” he said.
Mikheev is currently participating in the World Defense Show 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
He mentioned that the Klavesin-1RE autonomous underwater vehicle complex, showcased at the International Naval Show in Kronstadt, Russia, has garnered interest from several international buyers, with ongoing discussions.
The World Defense Show 2024 marks the first international exhibition of the complex, which is expected to draw attention from maritime nations, according to Mikheev.
Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef, held a meeting with Manturov at the World Defense Show 2024 in Riyadh.
The meeting, which also included the presence of Deputy Minister for Industry Affairs, Khalil bin Salama, focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation between the Kingdom and Russia in the industrial and mining sectors.
The discussions also covered the unique investment opportunities available in Saudi Arabia and the promotion of investments in both countries.
It’s noteworthy that Saudi Arabia’s exports to Russia amounted to SAR 55.99 million from January to October 2023.
