The Saudi King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has achieved remarkable strides in its eight years of existence, implementing over 2,473 humanitarian and relief projects valued at more than $6 billion USD across 92 countries worldwide.
According to the Saudi Press Agency “SPA”, the center has targeted vital sectors such as food, education, health, nutrition, water, environmental sanitation, and shelter, among other crucial domains.
These initiatives have benefited millions of the most vulnerable and needy individuals in the targeted countries.
The center has established close partnerships, strategic relations, and collaborations with international, regional, and local organizations as well as civil society entities. To date, the center boasts 175 partners.
Among the center’s notable achievements is the “Masam” project, which focuses on demining Yemeni territories. Since its inception in 2018, this initiative has successfully removed over 410,000 randomly scattered landmines from residential areas, schools, and roads.
Additionally, the industrial prosthetics program aims to support, treat, and provide high-quality prosthetic limbs for amputees, rehabilitating them.
As of July 2023, more than 48,000 individuals in the provinces of Aden, Taiz, Marib, and Hadramaut have received over 155,000 free services related to industrial prosthetics since 2020.
