Saudi Arabia has strongly denounced the recent attack on the Iranian consulate building in Damascus, according to reports from the Saudi Press Agency on Tuesday.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Saudi Arabia reiterated its firm opposition to the targeting of diplomatic facilities under any circumstances. The ministry emphasized that such actions constitute a clear violation of international diplomatic laws and the principles of diplomatic immunity.
Reports indicate that suspected Israeli warplanes carried out the bombing of Iran’s embassy in Syria on Monday, resulting in casualties including seven Iranian military advisers, as confirmed by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Among the casualties were three senior commanders, including Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a prominent figure within the Quds Force.
Saudi Arabia’s condemnation underscores the importance of upholding diplomatic norms and the sanctity of diplomatic missions, particularly in regions affected by conflict and instability.
