Non-resident Saudi Ambassador to Palestine Nayef bin Bandar Al-Sudairi met with the Secretary General of the Executive Committee (EC) of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Hussein Al-Sheikh and discussed cooperation between Palestine and Saudi Arabia.
The meeting took place at the embassy in Amman on Sunday, as the two officials touched upon various aspects of cooperation between the two nations.
During the meeting, Al-Sheikh emphasized the depth and strength of the bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Palestine.
Majed Faraj, the Director of the Palestinian General Intelligence Service, and Majdi Al-Khalidi, Diplomatic Affairs Advisor to the Palestinian President, were present at the meeting alongside him.
On 12 August 2023, Saudi Arabia appointed Naif bin Bandar Al Sudairi as its ambassador to Jordan.
It is worth highlighting that he is the first Saudi Ambassador to Palestine without residency in Jerusalem. This came amid talks with the US over a possible deal to normalize relations between the kingdom and Israel.
The Palestinian Authority welcomed the appointment, asserting that the “timing of the decision reflects the interest of the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Palestinian cause.”
