Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, reiterated the urgent need for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, along with providing safe humanitarian corridors to end the suffering of the Palestinian people.
The Saudi minister made these remarks during the 15th Islamic Summit Conference in Gambia on Saturday.
During last week’s cabinet meeting chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi Cabinet discussed the Kingdom’s efforts with its partners “to enhance joint action regarding the necessity of halting the war in the Gaza Strip, ensuring the protection of civilians, delivering humanitarian aid to the region, and supporting efforts aimed at international recognition of the independent Palestinian state,” according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Saudi Arabia has been actively involved in advocating for peace and stability in the Middle East, particularly in conflict zones like the Gaza Strip.
The Kingdom has consistently called for an end to hostilities and the establishment of a lasting ceasefire to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in the region.
Additionally, Saudi Arabia has been a staunch supporter of the Palestinian cause and has emphasized the importance of international recognition of Palestinian statehood as part of a comprehensive peace process in the region.
