Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, Advisor at the Saudi Royal Court and Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, announced the launch of two humanitarian aid ships destined for the peoples of Sudan and Palestine.
Speaking to the Saudi news channel “Al-Ekhbariya” from the Jeddah port on Monday, Al-Rabeeah stated that the ship headed to Sudan is number 31; this brings the total shipments to over 14,000 tons of relief, shelter, medical, and logistical supplies to support the Sudanese people.
Al-Rabeeah added that the ship directed to Arish and then to the Palestinian people in Gaza is number 8 and contains food, shelter materials, logistics supplies, and water tanks.
Notably, Kuwait has reaffirmed its commitment to continue delivering humanitarian and relief aid to the Palestinian people, while also praising the crucial role of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in supporting and assisting Palestinians.
During an international meeting on Palestine in Brussels, Kuwait’s Ambassador to Belgium and head of its missions to the European Union (EU) and NATO, Nawaf Al-Anzi, emphasized Kuwait’s dedication to providing humanitarian and relief assistance to the Palestinian people.
Al-Anzi highlighted UNRWA’s pivotal, indispensable role as the backbone of the humanitarian response in Gaza, noting that Kuwait recently made a voluntary contribution of 30 million U.S. dollars to the agency.
According to the Kuwait News Agency, Al-Anzi welcomed the recent decision by Norway, Spain, and Ireland to recognize the state of Palestine and expressed hope that other countries would view similar decisions more positively.
