A Saudi relief aircraft, the 15th of its kind operated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, departed from King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on Tuesday.
The aircraft, carrying 70 tons of relief supplies, is headed to Zoszow Airport in the Republic of Poland, near the Ukrainian border, as part of the Kingdom’s assistance to the Ukrainian people.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the plane’s cargo includes generators and electrical appliances intended to be transported across the Polish border into Ukraine.
This effort is within the framework of Saudi Arabia’s historic role in standing with the needy and affected people around the world during various crises and hardships.
It is worth mentioning that Saudi Arabia has previously announced providing a humanitarian aid package to Ukraine worth $400 million.
This package includes $100 million worth of humanitarian aid through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, as well as $300 million in funding for petroleum products as a grant through the Saudi Development Fund.
The departure of this relief aircraft underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to international humanitarian efforts, especially during times of crisis and adversity.
The aid provided aims to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and demonstrates the Kingdom’s solidarity with the Ukrainian people in their time of need.
