On Tuesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz held a closed-door meeting at the Presidential Palace in Ankara.
The session was also attended by Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler.
The Saudi Ministry of Defense stated that the meeting between President Erdoğan and Prince Khalid focused on reviewing bilateral relations and exploring ways to strengthen them.
Additionally, they discussed the latest regional and international developments and the efforts being made to address them.
Following the presidential meeting, Prince Khalid and Minister Güler held a bilateral session at the Turkish Ministry of Defense, which was followed by a broader meeting involving delegations from both countries.
These discussions centered on enhancing defense cooperation between Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
After his meeting with Güler, Prince Khalid took to Twitter to express his optimism about the discussions.
He wrote, “We reviewed the facets of Saudi-Turkish relations and explored ways to continue enhancing and developing our existing and future cooperation paths between our Ministries of Defense. We also discussed efforts to achieve peace and our joint endeavor to ensure security and stability in the region and the world.”
The dialogue underscores the strategic partnership between Saudi Arabia and Turkey, reflecting their mutual interest in fostering a robust defense relationship.
