The Jordanian Public Security Directorate announced on Saturday the detention of several individuals involved in rioting in the Al-Baqaa area.
According to the directorate’s media spokesperson, a security force apprehended a number of rioters following their engagement in acts of unrest, vandalism, setting fires, and throwing stones at vehicles on the public road.
The spokesperson further stated, “The individuals were detained for investigation and all legal measures are being taken against them.”
He affirmed the Public Security Directorate’s firm stance and zero tolerance policy against anyone compromising community security, targeting property destruction, disrupting citizens’ lives, and infringing on their rights by attempting to block roads.
Additionally, he mentioned ongoing efforts to track down and prosecute those proven to be involved in or inciting rioting and vandalism. “Those found complicit in such activities will be relentlessly pursued, apprehended, and brought to justice,” he added.
This move comes as part of Jordan’s broader efforts to maintain public order and safeguard community security against acts of rioting and vandalism that threaten the peace and safety of its citizens.
The Public Security Directorate’s decisive action underscores its commitment to upholding the law and ensuring the well-being of the Jordanian populace.
