Egyptian media outlets quoted President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on Thursday urging the international community and its “active” parties to fulfill their responsibilities to halt the Israeli war, which he described as brutal, in the Gaza Strip.
The Cairo News Channel attributed to el-Sisi during the opening of the Arab-Chinese Cooperation Forum in Beijing, stating that the international community is required to put an end to what he termed as the Israeli siege and to resist all attempts of forced displacement of Palestinians from their lands.
The Extra News Channel also attributed to el-Sisi saying, “We will not allow anything that jeopardizes the security and stability of our countries.”
The Egyptian President emphasized “the urgent need for serious and immediate commitment to the two-state solution and the acknowledgment of the Palestinians’ legitimate right to obtain their independent state.”
He also stated, “There is no way to achieve the desired regional and international peace and stability except through the comprehensive addressing of the roots of the Palestinian issue.”
El-Sisi appealed to the international community to act promptly and effectively in the immediate and sustainable implementation of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
