Threads has introduced a feature that allows users to toggle between different accounts without the need to log out.
Announced by the Meta-operated app on Thursday, users can now transition between accounts on its mobile application by holding down the profile icon located at the bottom right. By selecting the “Add profile” option after holding the icon, they can incorporate a new account.
This enhancement simplifies the process for users wishing to alternate between their professional and personal accounts.
Although the announcement came on the same day Facebook permitted users to have multiple profiles on its platform, Instagram’s Adam Mosseri didn’t disclose if there’s a cap on the number of accounts for this new feature.
Since its inception over three months ago, Threads has been proactive in rolling out innovations.
Last month, they trialed a full-text search function in New Zealand and Australia, with a global launch taking place earlier this month.
In September, they unveiled additional capabilities like temporary notifications for specific posts and the feature to quote posts online.
Threads is not alone in this rapid feature rollout. Its counterpart, Mastodon, recently launched version 4.2, which boasts enhanced search tools, an upgraded web interface, and new privacy settings, reflecting the dynamic nature of the social media industry.
