Tunisia and Burkina Faso have signed eight cooperation agreements covering investment, industry, tourism, traditional crafts, vocational training, family, women, children, the elderly, youth, and sports.
The agreements were signed by Tunisia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, and Burkina Faso’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Cooperation, Karamoko Jean Marie Traore.
The signing ceremony took place at the conclusion of the eighth session of the Tunisia-Burkina Faso Joint Committee held in Ouagadougou.
In a joint statement released on Tuesday, both ministers praised the outcomes of the committee’s work, emphasizing that these agreements will enrich the legal framework between the two countries and open new and promising opportunities for fruitful cooperation.
Ammar highlighted the productive meetings he had with the Burkinabe president and several high-ranking officials.
He emphasized the mutual determination to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in various fields, reflecting the political will of both nations’ leadership.
Ammar also welcomed the organization of the Tunisia-Burkina Faso Economic Forum and its significant outcomes, as well as the substantial participation from both sides.
Ammar stressed the need for the international community and influential countries to assume their responsibilities in stopping the genocide against the unarmed Palestinian people in Gaza and to restore all their rights across their entire territories.
Burkina Faso’s Foreign Minister Traore expressed his pleasure at the Tunisian delegation’s visit, underscoring Tunisia’s commitment to developing various aspects of cooperation with Burkina Faso.
He noted Burkina Faso’s eagerness to benefit from Tunisia’s successful experiences and expertise, emphasizing the importance of working together to follow up and implement the outcomes of the joint committee and the economic forum.
