Tunisia has announced its support for Morocco in the wake of a devastating earthquake, reinforcing the bonds of brotherhood that tie the two nations together.
On Saturday, 9th September 2023, the official spokesperson for the Tunisian Ministry of Interior, Fakher Bouzghaya, confirmed that a field hospital, under the jurisdiction of the Civil Protection Department, will be dispatched to the Kingdom of Morocco. This move aims to bolster relief operations and provide aid to the victims of the fierce earthquake that struck the Al Haouz region near Marrakech the previous night.
Further detailing the initiative in a statement to ‘WAT’, the source mentioned that the Civil Protection teams heading to Morocco would comprise 50 specialized staff and officers, including six civil protection doctors and four deputies. Moreover, these teams will be equipped with advanced thermal monitoring devices and drones to detect victims trapped beneath the rubble.
