Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called for a “Great Palestine Gathering” to be held at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport in response to the escalating Israeli airstrikes on Gaza.
In a statement posted on his social media platform, Erdogan condemned the Israeli attacks that have intensified in recent days, targeting innocent civilians, including women and children, and worsening the humanitarian crisis.
Erdogan stated, “Israel must immediately end this madness and cease its attacks.” He urged all his compatriots to participate in the gathering, emphasizing their support for the Palestinian people against Israeli oppression.
As Gaza endures its 22nd day of intensive Israeli airstrikes, the death toll among Palestinians has risen to over 7,000, with more than 18,000 injured and thousands missing beneath the rubble. On the Israeli side, over 1,400 people, including 308 military personnel, have been killed, with over 5,000 wounded, and 222 prisoners held by Hamas.
