During a phone call, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE’s Foreign Minister, discussed with Penny Wong, the Australian Foreign Minister, the developments in the Middle East region and its various humanitarian and security implications.
The two sides also addressed international efforts to achieve a sustainable ceasefire, emphasizing the utmost priority of ensuring protection for all civilians in accordance with international humanitarian law.
They stressed the necessity of enhancing the response to the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The Emirati foreign minister warned of the dangers of the worsening situation in the Middle East and the escalating tensions, which threaten regional and international peace and security.
He reaffirmed the UAE’s support for all regional and international efforts to end extremism, tension, and escalating violence in the region.
He emphasized the importance of protecting the security and safety of all civilians, intensifying humanitarian support for civilians in Gaza, and enhancing the global response to the escalating humanitarian crisis in the sector.
Al Nahyan and Wong also discussed the cooperation between the two countries and ways to enhance it in all fields, especially in investment and trade.
