Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman warmly received Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah, at Al Barakah Palace in the Omani capital of Muscat. The high-profile visit, scheduled for two days, reaffirms the long-standing ties and cooperation between Oman and Sharjah.
During the opening moments of their discussion, Sultan Haitham emphasized the deep-rooted brotherly relations and the close bond shared by the people of both territories. The Ruler of Sharjah conveyed greetings from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, extending wishes of further progress and prosperity for Oman.
The achievements of Sharjah in the realms of culture, literature, history, arts, and social sectors were lauded by Sultan Haitham, who particularly appreciated the literary and historical contributions of the Ruler of Sharjah, which document the history of Oman.
The importance of preserving Oman’s rich historical legacy and principles was also underscored during their meeting. Both leaders also explored avenues for enhanced cooperation in academic and cultural sectors, aiming to further elevate the already robust relationship.
Sultan Haitham hosted a grand luncheon in honor of the visiting Sharjah delegation, led by Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi. Key attendees included Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Mohammad bin Nakheera Al Dhaheri, the UAE Ambassador to Oman, Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Head of the Culture Department, and Mohammed Obaid Al Zaabi, Head of Protocols and Hospitality.
On the Omani side, attendees included Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports, and Youth, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Royal Court, and Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al Harasi, Minister of Information.
This meeting between Oman and Sharjah’s leaders not only reinforces the strength of their bilateral ties but also holds potential for future collaborative endeavors.
