The United Arab Emirates Cabinet, under the leadership of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, reviewed a report on the country’s achievements in 2023, along with its priorities for 2024. The meeting, held at the Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi, highlighted that through national efforts and coordination among various federal and local government sectors and private institutions, the UAE has significantly enhanced its global leadership.
In 2023, the UAE achieved first place globally in 215 international competitive indices, compared to 186 indices in 2022. Regionally, the country topped 364 global indices and ranked among the top 10 in 604 international indicators, according to global competitiveness reports and international organizations.
The UAE clinched the global top spot in the Government Policy Adaptability Index and the Absence of Bureaucracy Index, issued by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD). It also led globally in the Internet Users Index, Wireless Broadband Index, according to the IMD’s Global Digital Competitiveness Report, as reported by the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
Furthermore, the UAE ranked first in the Air Transport Quality Index, Energy Infrastructure Index, Low Personal Income Tax Index, and Minimal Labor Disputes Index, according to the IMD’s World Competitiveness Yearbook. It also excelled in the People Feeling Safe Walking Alone at Night Index and Logistics Performance Index, issued by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network.
Additionally, the UAE achieved top rankings in Prenatal Care Coverage, National Early Detection Programs, Government Budget Balance with GDP, and Talent Attraction, as per the Prosperity Index Report.
