The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has extended a helping hand to Ukraine’s healthcare sector by dispatching a ship loaded with 23 fully equipped ambulance vehicles, equipped with state-of-the-art medical, emergency, security, and safety equipment.
Salem Ahmed Salem Al Kaabi, the UAE Ambassador to Ukraine, emphasized that the UAE remains committed to providing humanitarian assistance to meet the essential needs of the Ukrainian people.
This commitment aligns with the UAE’s long-standing approach to supporting humanitarian efforts for those in need and distressed communities worldwide.
Majed bin Kamal, Director of Humanitarian Support and Assistance at the Office of International Affairs, stated that the current aid package includes 23 ambulances out of a total of 50 that the UAE plans to provide to Ukraine as part of its foreign aid program aimed at assisting its friendly Ukrainian population.
It is noteworthy that since the onset of the crisis, the UAE has continuously provided urgent relief supplies to those affected in Ukraine.
This includes a generous donation of $100 million USD to support Ukrainian civilians.
Additionally, the UAE has initiated an airlift operation, sending 12 aircraft carrying approximately 714 tons of relief supplies, essential food items, and medical supplies.
Furthermore, the UAE has sent a ship loaded with 250 tons of relief supplies to Poland and Romania, intended for onward transportation into Ukrainian territory.
Moreover, UAE-operated aircraft have been delivering humanitarian aid to Ukrainian refugees in neighboring countries such as Poland, Moldova, and Bulgaria.
