The Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, held a meeting with Egypt’s new Charge d’Affaires in Libya, Ambassador Tamer El-Hefny.
This high-level discussion underscored the ongoing international and regional efforts to navigate the complex political landscape of Libya.
During the meeting, Bathily shared his insights on the latest political developments in Libya. This approach is viewed as essential for steering the country towards stability and unity.
Furthermore, Bathily expressed his gratitude for Egypt’s unwavering support in seeking a Libyan-led and owned resolution to the protracted crisis.
He highlighted Egypt’s role in backing the UN-facilitated political agreement, which aims to lay the groundwork for holding elections in Libya as soon as possible.
This meeting is a testament to the international community’s commitment to restoring peace and democracy in Libya.
It also reflects the pivotal role that neighbouring countries, like Egypt, play in supporting Libya’s journey towards reconciliation and nation-building.
