The United States Congress has given its approval for the sale of 96 Apache helicopters, along with radars and various other weapons, to Poland.
Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak made the announcement, signaling a major step in strengthening Poland’s military capabilities.
Mariusz Blaszczak wrote on the X platform: “We have the consent of the US Congress to sell Poland 96 Apache helicopters along with radars and weapons!
“Now we are proceeding to price negotiations,” he added. “Until the procedures are finalised and the procured helicopters are delivered to Poland, the US Army will provide us with Apaches from their own reserves.”
Poland had previously requested Washington to provide them with 96 Apache attack helicopters, a request that gained support from the U.S. Department of State back in August.
The approval by the U.S. Congress marks a pivotal moment in solidifying the defense ties between the two nations.
According to the Pentagon, the supply of these helicopters to Poland will not significantly alter the military balance in the European region.
This sale is expected to bolster Poland’s national security and enhance its defense capabilities.
The Apache helicopter, known for its versatility and combat effectiveness, will play a crucial role in strengthening Poland’s armed forces. With advanced radar systems and weaponry, these helicopters are well-equipped to address a wide range of security challenges.
