During the early hours between about 04:15 and 06:00 local time in Sanaa, US Central Command forces successfully intercepted three unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Houthi-controlled territories.
Two drones were launched over the Gulf of Aden, and one over the Red Sea. No reports of injuries or damages were received from US ships, the coalition, or commercial vessels.
Later, between nearly 07:50 and 08:00 PM, US Central Command forces effectively engaged and neutralized 8 drones in Houthi-held regions in Yemen, acting in self-defense.
The statement emphasized that these drones posed an immediate threat to the United States, the coalition, and commercial vessels in the region.
Such actions aim to uphold navigation freedom and bolster the security of international waters for US ships, the coalition, and commercial vessels.
