The United States announced today, Friday, the imposition of sanctions on an extremist Israeli group accused of obstructing the distribution of humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza, according to Agence France-Presse (AFP).
A statement from the U.S. State Department said, “Today, we are targeting ‘Tzav 9,’ a violent extremist Israeli group that obstructs, harasses, and damages convoys carrying vital humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians in Gaza.”
The U.S. sanctioned Bentzi Gopstein, a prominent far-right activist and leader of the anti-Arab group Lehava, as well as two other Israeli groups, for their roles in inciting violence against Palestinians. These sanctions are part of a series of measures aimed at penalizing individuals and organizations that contribute to the ongoing conflict and hinder peace efforts in the region.
