Arun Venkataraman, US Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Global Markets, affirmed the robust and enduring economic partnership between the United States and Jordan during his recent visit to the country.
Venkataraman, who also serves as the Director General of the US and Foreign Commercial Service, noted the significant growth in the economic relationship, attributing it to the free trade agreement established between the two nations.
He highlighted that Jordan was among the first countries with which the US signed a free trade agreement back in 2001, which has served as a foundation for deepening their economic ties impressively.
Venkataraman pointed out that the United States has now become Jordan’s third-largest trading partner, with Jordanian exports to the U.S. accounting for 20% of its total exports.
